The collection consists of papers relating the the Upshaw family of Elbert County, Georgia from 1808-1880. Includes correspondence, bills, receipts, deeds, land grants, Upshaw genealogy, and other legal papers relating mainly to George and James Upshaw. Collection also includes information concerning persons enslaved by the Upshaw family and other enslavers.
