The collection consists of one letter: dated Camp, Rome, Georgia, February 9, 1864, to "Mr. W. L. A. Estes," signed "Edwin L. B. Estes," regarding Reasons' reaction to the Emancipation Proclamation, Estes' desire to get his wife out of Tennessee, and treatment of female citizens by the Union Army.
