The collection consists of galley proofs, house set revisions, dust jacket layouts and proofs, original sketches, and printer's first proofs for Herbert W. Benario's "An introduction to Tacitus" (Athens, Ga. : University of Georgia Press, 1975).

Biographical / historical:

Herbert W. Benario (b. July 21, 1929) was a professor of classics at Emory University until 1987. He has a B.A. from the City College of New York, 1948; an M.A. from Columbia University, 1949; and his PhD from Johns Hopkins University, 1951. He was a past president of the Classical Association of the Middle West and South.
