Biographical / historical:

David Challinor was an American biologist, naturalist, and science advisor. He was born in New York City on July 11, 1920, and graduated from Harvard University. In 1971, Challinor became the Science Advisor for the Smithsonian Institution Office of the Secretary, where he served until his retirement in 1996.
