The provost files in this collection cover the period from 1999 to 2011 and include the committee work and planning for the following events: Commencement, Convocation, Honor's Day, Special Topics Workshops, Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professorships, Richard B. Russell Award and CDs of many of the following events.

Biographical / historical:

As the chief academic officer at the University of Georgia, the senior vice president for academic affairs and provost guides efforts to promote a campus environment centered on teaching, research and public service. Those who have served as UGA provost include S. William Pelletier, 1969-1976; Virginia Trotter, 1981-1986, Louise McBee (acting) 1986-1987; William F. Prokasy, 1988-1998; Karen Holbrook, 1998-2002; Arnett C. Mace, 2002-2009; Jere Morehead, 2010-2013, Pamela Whitten, 2014-2018; S. Jack Hu, 2019-Present.
