Background

Scope and content:

This collection contains mostly t-shirts and posters relating to events sponsored by the UGA Union. It also includes committee minutes and agendas for concert planning, as well as artifacts reflecting the student radio station (WUOG), the campus bookstore, and the Athletic Department. All items, with the exception of a poster illustrated by Jack Davis, appear to be from the late 1970s.

Biographical / historical:

During Charles J. Henkin's time as a student at UGA he collected a number of items (t-shirts and posters) mostly related to events sponsored by the UGA Union.

The UGA Union's website notes that the organization provides shows that are inexpensive with special prices for activity fee-paying students and plenty of opportunities to get involved. It provides unique entertainment for both the campus and Athens communities ranging from concerts to lecturers.
