This collection documents the activites of David Ralston during his time as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, as well as his role as Speaker of the House. It contains correspondence with other representatives, copies of house and senate bills, photographs, speeaches, and his preparations for sessions.
- Biographical / historical:

David Ralston was the 73rd Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives. Ralston was born in Ellijay, Georgia, and attended Young Harris College and North Georgia College and State University. He later obtained his law degree from the University of Georgia.
Ralston served in the Georgia Senate from 1992 until 1998, when he ran for attorney general of Georgia but lost the election. In 2002, he was elected as a house representative for the 7th district and in 2010 he became speaker of the house. Ralston was the first Georgia speaker from north Georgia in over 150 years and was the longest-serving Republican speaker in Georgia history. David Ralston died on November 16, 2022.
