Scope and content:

This collection documents John Phinizy Stevens' work in the banking industry, as well as his geneology and interest in aviation. It contains announcements and newspapers documenting his promotions throughout his career, correspondence with other prominent Georgians, and geneological records.

Biographical / historical:

John Phinizy Stevens was born in Americus, GA in 1929. He attended The School of Banking of the South and began his career at the First National Bank of Atlanta in 1950. He retired as Executive Vice President of the Government Division of Wachovia Bank in 1994 and began a career as a public policy affairs expert. Stevens died on January 28, 2016.
