Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832) was a Scottish novelist, poet, historian, and biographer who is often considered both the inventor and the greatest practitioner of the historical novel.

The collection consists of a letter written by Sir Walter Scott. The seven-line letter is a third-person address of good wishes to the distinguished Scottish author Charles Mackay of the Theatre Royal. Mackay added a note at the bottom of the page.
