Historical Note
The Ladies Benevolent and Missionary Society of the Presbyterian Church (Athens, Ga.) was organized on April 19, 1882 to minister to the poor and encourage benevolent work.
Scope and Content
A record book including minutes, a constitution, and rolls of the Ladies Benevolent and Missionary Society of the Presbyterian Church (Athens, Ga.) from April, 1882 - February, 1885. The minutes describe the activities of the members including hymns sung, readings given by the members, and elections of officers. The collection also includes newspaper clippings regarding the deaths of Captain C. G. Talmadge and Isham H. Pittard.
