Abstract: Carol Jones is an advocacy specialist at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta and a long-time participant in the disability rights movement. Her papers include documents and memorabilia related to many advocacy issues and organizations, including ADAPT and the Long Road Home March and Rally.

Historical Note

Carol Jones is an advocacy specialist at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta and a long-time participant in the disability rights movement. She has worked as an attendant in the field, as a volunteer for multiple organizations, and participated in a number of important disabilities rights protests and actions. Carol Jones has been an active member of the disabilities advocacy community in Georgia for over thirty years and has documented important aspects of community advocacy.

Scope and Content

The Carol Jones Papers contain correspondence, organization materials, reports, newsletters, ephemera, and artifacts. The materials document her work with the national disability rights organization, ADAPT, her involvement with the Long Road Home March and Rally, and other advocacy groups and events. Materials date from 1987 to 2013.
