Historical Note

Reverend Samuel Urlsperger, Pastor of St Anna's Lutheran Church in Augsburg, Germany, working through the Society for the Propagation of Christian Knowledge in England, made arrangements for the group of Salzburgers to travel to Georgia.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of an incomplete typescript of volume I (1733-34) of Detailed Reports on the Salzburger Emigrants Who Settled in America published by the University of Georgia Press in 1968. The book was translated by Hermann J. Lacher and edited with an introduction by George Fenwick Jones. This publication is number nine of the Wormsloe Foundation Publications.
