Scope and Content
The collection consists of two items: a land grant, dated June 10, 1786, for 400 acres in Franklin County, Georgia, to Benjamin Knox, signed by Gov. George Mathews (plat included); and a note dated May 10, 1798, "Dan Head," regarding intent to purchase land.
