Fred A. Birchmore, known for his travels around the world on a bicycle, was author of the book titled Around the World on a Bicycle.
Scope and Content
The collection consists of papers of Fred A. Birchmore from 1935-1995. Included are Around the World on a Bicycle book covers; newspaper clippings regarding Birchmore's travels across Europe, Africa, and Asia on his bicycle; and photographs depicting Birchmore with friends and family, on his bicycle, and scenic views. The collection also consists of correspondence regarding articles Birchmore wrote, upcoming lectures and visits, and his trip around the world on his bicycle.
