Olin Downes (1886-1955) was an American music critic with the Boston Post (1906-1924) and the New York Times (1924-1955).

The Programs consist of programs from various performances during the 1920s-1950s. Performance groups highlighted include the Brooklyn Institute of Arts and Sciences, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and the Brooklyn Institute.
