Starkey Flythe Jr. (1935-2013) was a short story, fiction, and poetry writer, editor, and teacher from Augusta, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Army and held a Master's Degree in English from the University of Georgia. He held editing positions at the Curtis Publishing Company, Holiday Magazine, Country Gentleman, and The Saturday Evening Post.
He also wrote under pseudonyms of Sam Walton, F.X. O'Conner Jr.
This collection contains manuscripts, correspondence, photographs, notebooks, and biographic ephemera. It includes his ideas, articles, essays, collected poems, short stories, and novels in handwritten, typed, and printed forms.
