Historical Note

Louise Miller Carswell York (1894-1951), daughter of James Alexander Carswell and Lavinia C. Miller, married Gus York at Hephzihah, Georgia in 1920. They had four children: Gus York, Jr., Orlean Walton York Castronis, Sara Lavinia York Barron, and Marion Hillyer York.

Scope and Content

Collection consists of family correspondence, photographs, genealogy, writings and memoirs of the York family. Also included is genealogy on the Polhills, Millers, and Guions.
