This collection contains items related to African American businesses, churches, schools, and leaders in the Middle Georgia area. The bulk of the collection is comprised of photographs and includes several of the funeral of Dr. Thomas H. Brewer, a civil rights activist murdered in Columbus, Georgia in 1956.
