Historical Note
Kent Anderson was born in North Carolina in 1945. In 1968, he joined the U.S. Army and served in the Special Forces in Vietnam earning two Bronze Stars. From 1972 to 1976, Anderson worked as a police officer in Portland, Oregon. He earned a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction from the University of Montana in 1978. He was working as a police officer in Oakland, California until resigning to write his first novel, Sympathy for the Devil, in 1983. He then worked as an assistant professor of English at the University of Texas at El Paso and Boise State University, as well as a screenwriter for Newline Cinema. He's since published two more novels, Night Dogs and Green Sun.
Scope and Content
This collection includes Kent Anderson's file of reviews of his first book, Sympathy for the Devil, as well as a draft of the prologue and first chapter of his second book, Night Dogs.
