The Rome-Floyd Clean Community Commission, now known as Keep Rome/Floyd Beautiful, is a local affiliate of the national nonprofit organization Keep America Beautiful, Inc. The commission sponsors events and iniatives to encourage citizens of Rome, Georgia and it's surrounding county to improve their neighborhoods through litter reduction, recycling, and beautification.
This collection includes the records of the Rome-Floyd Clean Community Commission including a Clean Comunity Commission manual created by Keep America Beautiful, Inc., public service announcement kits for radio stations, photographis slides, coloring books and other printed ephemera from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service featuring Smokey the Bear and Woodsy Owl, and several videos of environmental conservation guides and public service announcements.
Though the collection is open for research, the audiovisual recordings do not have reference copies; however, reference copies are available upon request. Audiovisual research requests are dependent upon the format and condition of the recordings.
