William Gaston Deloney (1826-1863) married Rosa Huguenin (1832-1897) in 1854, and resided in Athens, Clarke County, Georgia. He was a graduate from the University of Georgia (1846), a state representative, and a Colonel of a cavalry unit he raised in Athens that joined Cobb's Legion during the American Civil War. Deloney was twice wounded in combat and died from his wounds as a prisoner of war in a Washington, D.C. hospital. He was reinterred in Oconee Hills Cemetery in Athens, Georgia in 1866.
This collection contains correspondence, genealogical research, photographs, and assorted papers from the Deloney and Huguenin families.
