Macon Georgia based Capricorn Records began in 1969 as an independent record label. The founders were Phil Walden, Alan Walden and Frank Fenter. During the 1970s, Capricorn was the label for many Southern rock and soul bands with artists ranging from Elvin Bishop to Bonnie Bramlett.
This collection mostly consists of promotional posters for Capricorn recording artists. The musicans are: Billy Joe Shaver, Elvin Bishop, Bonnie Bramlett, The Marshall Tucker Band, Wet Willie and Dr. John. Also included in the collection are T-shirt iron-ons for Elvin Bishop and a "Save the Whales" poster. All the material dates from the 1970s.
