Loran Smith is a 1962 graduate of the University of Georgia where he captained the 1960 Bulldog track team and was named MVP his senior year. He created Georgia's pre-game Tailgate Show and the Head Coach's locker room show. Smith is the author of numerous books and his Banner-Herald column runs in more than 20 papers throughout the state. Smith's syndicated weekly radio show, "Sports Conversations," is heard on approximately 50 stations in Georgia. A past chairman of the State of Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, Smith was elected to the Georgia Sports hall of Fame in 1997. UGA Alumni Association
Jack Davis (born 1924) is an award winning American cartoon artist and illustrator. He was a founding member of Mad Magazine and has illustrated his distinctive style of caricature on movie posters, book covers, advertisements, and comic books since 1952. His irreverent images celebrate a down-to-Earth quality of the people and animals he draws. As an avid fan of the football team for the University of Georgia, Davis has illustrated a number of images featuring the Georgia Bulldog in a multitude of situations over the years.
