Arthur L. Montgomery (1923-2012), son of L. F. Montgomery, served as an executive of Coca Cola and was an Atlanta civic leader. He served as chairman of the Atlanta City Parks and Recreation Committee and was instrumental in the creation of the Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium and in bringing the Braves and Falcons to Atlanta.
Montgomery was heavily involved in civic and charitable organizations including: American Cancer Society; University of Georgia Foundation; Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Schools; Atlanta Municipal Theater; Atlanta Symphony; Atlanta Chamber of Commerce; Georgia Student Educational Fund; Atlanta Rotary Club; and Georgia Alumni Society.
This collection includes clippings and articles; plaques and certificates; a small amount of correspondence; and films related to the career and activities of Arthur L. Montgomery. The majority of the papers deal with Montgomery's involvement in the Atlanta City Parks and Recreation Committee and the Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. The films are primarily Montgomery family home moves from the 1950s to the 1970s.
