C. P. Lacey was enlisted in Company B, 55th Illinois Volunteers, U.S. Army, and served during the Civil War.
The collection consists of a Civil War diary of C. P. Lacey from January-November 1864. Lacey writes of frequent battles, including Resaca, Georgia, and of approaching and battling towards Atlanta, Georgia. The collection also includes a cased photograph on glass of Lacey as an older man.
