Rev. D.E. Butler (bork Wilkes Co., Ga., 1818) was Baptist minister who resided chiefly in Madison, Ga. See sketches of his life in History of the Baptist Denomination in Georgia (Ga F285.H670 1976) and in Men of Mark in Georgia v.3, pp. 414-416. Butler was the son of David and Frances Wingfield Butler.

Davis was born in Davidboro, Ga., in August 1842 and died in Thomasville, Ga., on 14 April 1879. He left Mercer University in 1861 to enlist in F.H. Ivey's Washington Co. "Mount Vernon Rifles." On the 1st of May 1862, he was elected 2nd sergeant of Co.A, 57th Regt., Ga. Vol. Inf., Army of Tenn., Thomas Co. "Dixie Boys." Jr. 2nd Lt. Jan. 1863; wounded Baker's Creek, Miss. 16 May 1863; captured Vicksburg 4 July 1863; exchanged 1863; acting Adjutant 13 Jan. 1864; elected Captain of Co.B in 1864; surrendered at Greensboro, N.C. 26 April 1865. He was husband of Martha Jones Davis.

The plantation house, home of pioneer Thomas Co., Ga. settler Thomas Jones and his family, was begun in 1839 under the direction of English architect John Wind. Greenwood stands today and is on the Nationsl Register of Historic Places. See Rinhart, The American Daguerreotype, pp. 352-353.

Children: Fannie Theresa; Isabella Holmes Walker; Sara Harriet; Jennie Leslis; Harriet Stafford; Jessie Douglas; Charles Walker; Thomas Carlisle; Deasie Lou. T.A. Harris served the Lexington, Ga. and Athens charges and taught school.

Married to Margaret Bliss Hoyt (1794-1872), born in Springfiel, Mass.

Jones (b. 1841) was killed in action on 13 July 1864. All 3 students in class of 1860, Chapel Hill. Douglas at UNC 1859 or 1860. Adams from Yorkville, SC.

Sons of Rev. John and Jane Adaline Dunwody Jones. John C. Jones graduated from Oglethorpe University in 1872, and settled in Orlando, Fla., in 1881 becoming a prominent lawyer in that state. Joseph H. Jones attended Oglethorpe University and graduated from Mercer in 1874. He joined his brother in his practive of law in 1893.

	Trice married, Joseph Jones was the son of John and Mary Sharpe Jones. His father died 9 October 1779 at the siege of Savannah, seven weeks before Joseph's birth. Joseph Jones was captain of the Libery Independent Troop durning the War of 1812. He was the father of 26 children of whom 13 lived to maturity, among them Mary Jones who wed the Rev. Dr. Charles Colcock Jones.

The lives of the Rev. and Mrs. Jones and their children Charles Colcock Jones, Jr. (1831-1893), Joseph Jones (1833-1896), and Mary Sharpe Jones (1835-1889) are chronicled in The Children of Pride, edited by Robery Manson Myers (New Haven, 1972).

	Long, born at Carlisle, Pa. on 4 April 1781, died at Danielsville, Ga., of cholera on 9 March 1853. He was a successful merchant and planter and a member of the Presbyterian Church. On 8 Dec. 1813, he married Elizabeth Ware (1789-1856). They were the parents of Crawfor Williamson Long, M.D. (1815-1878), Sarah Ann Elinor Long Mitchell (1817-1874), Henry Russell Jones Long, M.D. (1823-1888), and Elizabeth Amanda Long Thurmond (1828-1897).

Vol. Inf., Amry of Northern Virginia, "Jackson County Volunteers" on 14 June 1861. Transferred to Co. B, 16th Regt., Ga. Vol. Inf., "Center Hill Guards" on 26 July 1861. Appointed sergeant. Elected Jr. 2nd lieutenant, 27 June 1862. Killed at Crampton's Gap, Md. 14 Sept. 1862.
