The collection consists of a diary kept by Isiah Smith from 1860-1867. Smith writes about family, friends, work, church, singing, the weather, army camp, hospital duties, and fellow soldiers. The collection also includes photographs of Isiah Smith, his family, and CSA discharge. The photographs are undated.
