William A. (Bud) Foster, Jr. was a lawyer, mayor of Dallas (Ga.), and judge, and lived in Paulding County, Georgia. He was the author of a book titled Paulding County: Its People and Places.
The collection consists of correspondence, writings, photographs, financial papers and printed material. The correspondence of 1938-1939 deals with waterworks improvement and street paving projects when Foster was mayor of Dallas, Georgia. From 1984-1988 there are handwritten and typed copies of a column, "Here comes the Judge," which Foster wrote for the Dallas New Era. In the columns, Foster described his friends, family, and Paulding County history. There are typed copies of several chapters of his book "Paulding County: Its People and Places." There is both correspondence and printed material for the Georgia Sesquicentenary Commission, 1981-1984; the Paulding Paul Revere Bicentennial Committee, 1975-1976; and several items concerning financial and voter information of Dallas and Paulding County, Georgia.
