John Lindsay Johnson (d. 1915) was a lawyer, planter, chairperson of Georgia State Commission to the Paris Exposition of 1900, and Director of the U.S. Bureau of Census in Manila, Philippine Islands.

The collection consists of recommendations, endorsements, and appointments of J. Lindsay Johnson. Positions include member of the Board of Trustees of The University of Georgia, Consult to Antwerp Belgium or Lyons France, Commissioner for the Paris Exposition from the state of Georgia, positions in the Philippines, Director of the Census of the Philippines Islands, and Consul General to Shanghai, China. The collection also includes Legislative tickets (Railroad passes), membership cards, invitations, two photographs, Johnson's passport, and a sympathy letter regarding Johnson's death.
