Justus Erwin Owens (1893-1918), U.S. Army soldier in the 326th Infantry, 82nd Division, during World War I. Owens was killed at the Battle of Argonne. Owens was a resident of Carrollton, Georgia.
This collection contains a scrapbook containing information on the World War I service of Justus Erwin Owens in 1918 with newspaper clippings, photographs, and some correspondence. The correspondence is between Owens and his family while he was training at Camp Gordon, while in France, and at the time of his death. Of particular interest is a letter in which Owens describes the Battle of St. Mihiel.
