Abstract: The collection consists of correspondence from Ernest Bloch to his friend, Samuel Laderman. The letters discuss all aspects of his musical life, including composing, teaching, performing, and recording. Also included are photographs of Bloch and the original orchestral score for his Proclamation for Trumpet Solo and Orchestra. |
Ernest Bloch (1880-1959) was an American composer of Swiss origin. He spent his last eighteen years in Agate Beach, Oregon.
