Josephine Hodgson, Charles Hodgson, and Winston D. Hodgson were siblings. Charles Hodgson was a Technical Sergeant with the 513 Ordnance Company, U.S. Army, in the European Theater, and Winston D. Hodges was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, both during World War II.
The collection consists of correspondence addressed to Josephine Hodgson from Charles N. Hodgson, Winston D. Hodgson, and James G. Paine, Jr. while serving during World War II, from 1942-1946. The majority of correspondence are from Charles, and regard his duties as well as the destruction in France and Germany. Letters from Paine describe England and social life in the military. The collection also includes newspaper clippings concerning the World War II service of Winston D. Hodgson, photographs, and a Lucy Cobb Academy diploma presented to Josephine Hull Hodgson, May 26, 1930.
