The collection consists of an unbound diary with entries describing life on board U.S.S. Dorothea L. Dix, transporting U.S. troops to Europe, submarine attacks, battles involving Dorothea L. Dix, various ports and countries, and Williams' duties as a gunner's mate. Also included is a list of locations and dates U.S.S. Dorothea L. Dix departed from and arrived at from September 25, 1942-November 8, 1944.
