Historical Note
Joseph Wiley Reid (b.1925) of Sumter County, Georgia, served in a Quartermaster unit in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
Scope and Content
The collection consists of biographical information of Joseph Wiley Reid, and photographs from Reid's service in Japan during World War II. Of particular interest is an autographed photograph of Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter, and a short note signed by the Carters thanking Reid for his help with Carter's campaign.
