The collection consists of three letters: dated Wasala, Georgia, November 29, 1863, "to Mr. Harless," signed "Elijah Carley," mentioning Generals Hardee and Bragg, losing troops and prisoners, and hopes of pursuing Yankees across the Tennessee River; dated Crawfordville, Georgia, January 17, 1864, "Dear Linton," signed "Alexander Stephens," regarding going to Richmond; dated Headquarters, Cavalry Corps, Covington, August 8, 1864, to "Captain," signed "Joseph Wheeler, Major General," regarding Generals Iverson and Allen, foraging for food, and the need for horse shoes. The collection also includes Georgia Confederacy enlistment papers for M.H. Wright of Newman, Georgia, dated March 6, 1861.
