Collection Description
Scope and Content
The collection consists of correspondence and envelopes addressed to Florida Stewart (Mrs. Walter Stewart) of Columbus, Georgia, from 1863-1864. Correspondence regards social activities and news of friends or relatives. A letter dated Alpine, August 2, 1863, from "Nannie," briefly discusses elections of the Confederate government, news of friends or family in the army, and the fall of Vicksburg.
