Lucy Nicholson was a prominent citizen of Athens, Georgia. She was involved in civic and social activities. An avid gardener, she served as President of the Ladies' Garden Club of Athens, American's first Garden Club founded in 1891. She was married to Madison G. Nicholson.
The collection consists of correspondence, ledgers, photographs, recipes, legal documents, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, etc, related to Lucy Nicholson. Part of the correspondence is from the Sibley family. Other documents relate to the Sibley family, Madison G. Nicholson, and the Ladies Garden Club of Athens. An unidentified account of the Civil War is also included.
