John Lawrence Tison (b. 1876), lawyer and layman minister of the Episcopal Church, son of Catherine Arabella Tison (b. 1833), married Elsie Storey, resided in Cedar Grove, Walker County, Georgia.
The collection consists of papers of John L. Tison of Cedar Grove, Georgia from 1891-1934. Includes correspondence, deeds, indentures, notebooks, sermons, and speeches. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence (1900-1910) to John L. Tison from his mother, Arabella, and brother Sidney which discusses family matters, religion, and social events.
