William Winstead Thomas (1849-1904), son of Stevens Thomas (1814-1891) and Isabella Lightfoot Hayes Thomas; husband of Pamela Jenkins Brown; architect and designer of the Welch-Thomas House, Thomas-Carithers House, and the Seney-Stovall Chapel; University of Georgia graduate (1868 A.B., 1869 C.E.); member of board of commissioners responsible for the building of the Georgia capitol (1883-1889); president of Soutern Mutual Insurance Company; and University of Georgia Trustee (1881-1891).
