Erskine Caldwell (1903–1987) was an author who grew up in the American South. He is most famous for his novels Tobacco Road and God's Little Acre, which won him critical acclaim because of his writings about poverty, racism and social problems in the South.

The collection consists of eight motion picture contracts from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, signed by Erskine Caldwell, 1833-1834. Contracts are signed for the follownig films: Express Train Robbery, Lady Comes to Town, Lost Laughter, Louisiana Lou, Stranger's Return, Timber, Wheat, and Wicked Woman.
