Historical Note
James Hamilton Couper has been described as a "pioneer in the agricultural and industrial development of Georgia and the South." His family owned Hopeton Plantation.
Scope and Content
The collection consists of an invitation to a reception at Hopeton, the family plantation. The reception is in honor of Couper's daughter and her fiance Robert M. Stiles. The cards of each are included here.
