John McIntosh Kell (1823-1900), son of John and Margery Spalding Baillie Kell of Darien, Georgia, married Julia Blanche Munroe of Macon, Georgia. During the Civil War, Kell served as an officer in the Confederate Navy. After the war, he served as Georgia's Adjutant-General from 1886 until his death in 1900.
A letter from John McIntosh Kell to his wife, Blanche Munroe Kell, from Warrington Naval Yard (Fla.) dated September 22, 1859. The letter regards housing at Pensacola and Kell's service on the steamer Fulton as a U.S. naval officer.
