Francis L. Sullivan was born in 1903 and died 1956 at the age of 53. He was a British character actor and later American film actor. He became a naturalized American citizen in his later years. He made his acting debut at age 18. He played Mr. Bumble in Oliver Twist (1948) and Phil Nosseross in the film noir Night and the City (1950). He won a Tony award in 1955.
