Edmund Gosse was an English translator, literary historian, and critic who introduced the work of Henrik Ibsen and other continental European writers to English readers.
The collection consists of one letter: dated August 17, 1916, signed "Edmund Gosse," regarding Madrigals of 1870. Gosse writes: "Fewer than 12 copies were sold of it, and I very seldom hear of its turning up."
