Robert Preston Brooks, educator, historian, head of the Institute of Public Affairs, and Dean of the School of Economics at the University of Georgia, resided in Athens, Georgia.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of papers of Robert Preston Brooks including correspondence, writings, speeches, clippings, research, printed material, and scrapbooks. While the materials document Brooks' duties and activities with the University of Georgia, a large part of the collection deals with his research and writings on economics, Georgia history, agriculture, and the plantation system.
