Honors Day was introduced by Chancellor S.V. Sanford in 1930 to give public recognition to the students who achieve scholastic honors. All full-time undergraduate and professional students in the University who stand in the top five percent of their classes, based on cumulative grade averages, are honored on this day.
The collection consists mainly of Honors Day programs dating from 1930 through 2010. There are also related materials such as reports, invitations and brochures dating from 1930 through 1992.
