Jan B. Wheeler was associate director for accreditation in the Office of Academic Planning at the University of Georgia. Her book, A Campaign of Quiet Persuasion: How the College Board Desegregated the SAT Test Centers in the Deep South, 1960-1965, was published in 2013. The College Entrance Examination Board desegregated SAT testing centers in 1960. Wheeler's book focuses on two College Board employees who traveled throughout the South to advocate for school desegregation and create a roster of desegregated test centers.
This collection contains research files compiled by Jan B. Wheeler for her book A Campaign of Quiet Persuasion: How the College Board Desegregated SAT Test Centers in the Deep South, 1960-1965.
