The Tom Bennett Files on Herman E. Talmadge are a subject file compiled by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for writing Talmadge's advance obituary. The files include newspaper clippings about Talmadge's career as Georgia governor (1948-1955) and U.S. Senator (1957-1980), Talmadge genealogies, the report on his investigation for financial misconduct by the Select Committee on Ethics of the U.S. Senate in 1979, Bennett's notes on Talmadge, and letters to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about their coverage of Talmadge.
