Abstract: Martha Zoller was host of the conservative radio talk show The Martha Zoller Show and is active in Georgia's political discourse. Her papers document her broadcast, publishing, and political career and include audio and video recordings from her show, opinion pieces, research materials, and photographs.

Collection Description

Biographical Note

Martha Zoller is a conservative radio talk show host. She earned a bachelor's in journalism from the University of Georgia in 1979. After college, she worked as a corporate buyer for Rich's in Atlanta, Georgia for ten years before moving to Gainesville, Georgia and becoming a stay-at-home mom. Over time, she became a regular caller on the WDUN radio program Morning Talk, which led to her becoming a co-host of its Midday program.

Zoller got her own radio show, The Martha Zoller Show, in 1996 on station WGGA. The next year the show was moved to the flagship station WDUN. In 1999 the show became an expanded version of Morning Talk with the name Morning Talk with Martha Zoller and later The Martha Zoller Show. The show was a live, town hall style talk show that aired on weekday mornings and covered politics and other general interest topics at the local, state, and national level. She has described the show as a "civil discourse on a variety of topics."

In addition to The Martha Zoller Show, Zoller hosted the Brenau News Forum from 1996 to 2001. The program, which is produced by Brenau University, is a weekly public affairs program that is broadcast over the radio and public television. Guests on the program come from all levels of politics, the arts, and other areas of interest to the community. She has also made regular appearances on the Sunday morning political roundtable "The Georgia Gang" on television station FOX5 Atlanta since 2000 and been a guest on a variety of television news and radio programs. Additionally, she has authored columns for many news sites and published a book in 2005, Indivisible: Uniting Values in a Divided America.

Zoller was a candidate in the Republican primary for Georgia's 9th Congressional District for the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2012 election. She ran against Doug Collins and Roger Fitzpatrick and lost to Collins in a run-off in August 2012. In 2013, she started the blog zPolitics to provide a news source on politics for Georgians. In 2015, she became State Policy Director for Senator David Perdue.

Scope and Content

The Martha Zoller Papers document her career as the host of the Martha Zoller Show and her work in other areas as a political conservative, including hosting the Brenau News Forum, appearing on news programs, writing, and running for Congress. The majority of her papers are digital or audiovisual materials and include audio recordings from the Martha Zoller Show, audio and video recordings of her appearances on other programs, schedules and research to prepare for shows, opinion pieces, and photographs. Two recordings in Subseries A. Martha Zoller Show have been digitzed: CS 0027 and CS 0057. Please see below.

All three series contain audiovisual materials. Reference copies of the audiovisual recordings are available upon request. Research requests will be filled as soon as possible and will be dependent upon the condition of the recordings.

Series I.
