Nathan Atkinson Brown family letters
Collection DescriptionScope and ContentThe collection consists of correspondence between Nathan Atkinson Brown and his family, 1859-1913. The letters were written while Brown served with the 26th Georgia Infantry Regiment, Company B at Saint Simons and Cumberland Islands, and regard stress the war was placing on planters in southeast Georgia, slavery, and race relations. Also included is a church program and two newspaper clippings regarding the death of Louisa Nicholes Brown, 1929.
